PSHE: Statement of Intent
At Oakway Academy, we believe that every child should be given the knowledge to keep themselves safe and healthy. We believe in promoting an environment which fosters positive relationships with others and shows children how to be mindful and respectful of the life choices others have made. Children at Oakway Academy will develop the knowledge and skills to become well-rounded individuals who are resilient and capable of dealing with the challenges of the modern world. Children will be able to understand and manage their emotions, using a range of coping strategies. Children will become respectful and considerate members of society, who set themselves high aspirations and are proud of what they achieve, both in and out of the Academy. Our RSE and PHSE curriculum is ambitious and at least meets the expectations and requirements of the national curriculum. At Oakway, we carefully consider the local context of the community the academy serves and integrate this into our PD curriculum offe
