At Oakway, we value the Wellbeing of all our stakeholders and believe that Wellbeing is everyone’s responsibility.
We recognise that, mental health and wellbeing is of utmost importance and intrinsic to our lives.

In order for all children to achieve their full potential, we understand that this involves supporting the wellbeing of the whole school community.

We believe having a mentally healthy community is not about being happy all the time, but about working together through the challenges and sharing the celebrations; feeling supported, heard, accepted, valued and empowered.

We are delighted to have recently been awarded the Optimus Education ‘Wellbeing Award for Schools’ recognising the work which is carried out with regard to the emotional wellbeing and mental health of all our stakeholders. A copy of the report can be found here.

We have also recently been accepted to the Mental Health Support Team programme in Northamptonshire and as part of this we will be able to increase the support we offer to parents, pupils and staff.

Within the Academy we have an established ‘Wider PD’ team made up from representatives of the senior leadership team, teaching and non teaching staff who meet 3 times a year to ensure as an Academy we continue to reflect and improve on the provision we have in school for pupils, staff and parents.

Outlined below is the support that we currently offer for pupils, parents and staff. If you feel that your child, or yourself would benefit from support, please speak to the welfare team who can be contacted via the main office.
